Hennessy Infused German Chocolate Cupcakes

This week I whipped up several batches of my usual kid safe cupcakes in addition to two delicious adults only varieties. In this post, we are going to be diving into the sweet richness of my Hennessy infused German Chocolate Cupcakes.

We can all agree that when it comes to chocolate cake, German Chocolate is the way to go. There’s something unique about the way the coconut layer seals moisture in the cake. The crunch of the pecans allows for just the right amount of texture.

I added a Hennessy infused butter cream to the cupcakes. I flavored the butter cream with vanilla and a hit of cinnamon. I think the key is using good quality butter.

In my local area we have Amish roll butter. It’s similar to higher fat European butters. Trust me, it’s worth the extra few dollars!!

I also infused the coconut layer with a hint of Hennessy. The goal was to add enough liquor so that you could taste it, without overpowering the other flavors. It was perfectly balanced.

The shot of Hennessy in the tube can be taken on its own or released into the cake. I prefer the second option. The Hennessy enhances the flavor of the chocolate while the cake dulls the harshness of the alcohol.
