Scary Movie Night

I’ve been working my way through Country Living Magazine’s Fall Bucket List. This weekend alone, I went to the pumpkin patch, wore flannel, enjoyed the crisp air, drank (spiked) cider and hosted a scary movie night.

You know I love a theme, so I pulled out the candles to add spooky ambiance.

Candles are cheap and impactful. You can purchase a pack of 100 tea lights for as little as $5.

Instead of watching a movie we started The Netflix horror series The Haunting of Hill House. It’s really freaking good. don’t watch alone!

The darker it got, the creepier the house looked. Guests didn’t start arrive until 8pm so it was perfect!

I heated apple cider with fresh ground nutmeg and cinnamon sticks. I served the cider spiked with Bourbon. It was the perfect drink for a cold night.

I premixed the first drink but left the bourbon and a carafe of hot cider nearby so that guests could help themselves.

No movie night is complete without popcorn and few warm blankets for sharing…and WINE.
